The computer tech I was training decided he missed his puppy dog or something and just walked off the ship this morning, 2 days before they (or should I say we) were scheduled to sail. It’s only a 5 day trip doing CTD work, which means easy work for the computer tech. It’s not like it was going to be some 45 day tour of the Pacific.

No explaination, no warning. I had been asking him during the transit leg if he was going to stick around, just so we could avoid something like this.

So I’m now taking one more last cruise. Time to knock off for the afternoon because I’m not getting that vacation I was hoping for.
